Business Thursday

Stress-related mental disorders are estimated to account for $200 Million each year in Worker's Compensation claims.

In their 2006 report, the Australian Safety and Compensation Committee reported that 5% of all Worker Compensation claims are due to stress.  A survey by the Australian Council of Trade Unions concluded that 54% of employees claim to have been subjected to intimidating behaviour in the workplace.

The art to assertive behaviour is having the confidence that what you say will be received positively, no matter what the message.

During this Business thursday , we'll learn techniques to deal with passive and aggressive behaviour using verbal and non-verbal communication.  We'll also look at ways to give and receive negative feedback.

By the end of the two hours, you should have more confidence to deal with individuals and participate effectively in meetings, dealing with employees & operating your business.

Course Outcomes

  • List the costs of inappropriate behaviour
  • Identify the benefits of assertive behaviour
  • Learn the benefits of the Stress Prevention Campaign
  • Demonstrate best practice when making requests of others
  • Confidently participate in meetings

Training others since 1998, he soon realised that  helping people realise their potential and assisting them along that journey to success was his mission in life.
